Hello Kirk Families,
Here is what’s happening around Kirk this week!
1- Our All School Open House is tonight, from 6:15 p.m. –
7:30 p.m. Your family and friends are invited to visit our school that evening and see what our Kirk children have been creating throughout this school year. All classrooms, the tech and science lab as well as the art studio will be on display. 5th grade will be selling pizza dinners and Menchies that evening. Please help support them as they try to reach their fundraising goal for their graduation celebration!!
2- Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Club has ended. Please be sure to turn in your reading logs to Miss Gretchen. Children in grades K-5th grades have a chance to earn a Magic Mountain amusement park ticket if they completed 6 hours of reading. Please contact Miss Gretchen, our school librarian, for questions at [email protected]
3- Elementary children will NOT have yoga this Friday, please have your children wear their regular P.E. shoes.
4- The children, Tots through 5th grade, will be enjoying an assembly presented by the Environmental Defenders this Friday.
5- Pancake Breakfast is right around the corner! Saturday, March 8 from 8am-11am. There will be exciting raffle baskets, a silent auction, a wine raffle and for the kids, face painting and a photo booth! Breakfast tickets are $5, raffle tix are $1, $5, and $10. Tickets will be on sale tonight at the Open House and next week at drop-off. Look for the sign-up sheet in the breezeway to help out flipping pancakes, selling tickets, or being part of the setup/cleanup crew.
6- The Used Book sale is coming soon to Kirk! March 3-9 in the breezeway! You may start to bring your gently used books and dvds to donate to the book sale this week. Please be discriminating about the type of reading materials and dvds you donate, as our children do go shopping at the sale everyday and seem to have a knack for picking out the one book that’s not appropriate for them.
7- Miss Gretchen, our librarian, is looking for bookshelves and display cases that you may be interested in getting rid of or just loan out for the Used Book Sale next week. Please contact Miss Gretchen at [email protected] for any questions regarding the Used Book Sale.
8- Just a reminder to please pick up your cake plates and trays in our kitchen. Also, our lost and found is overflowing and there are many items looking for a home! Please stop by and check out if something belongs to your child. Lost and found is located in the breezeway outside Room 3.
We hope to see you tonight at our Open House!
