ALS FUNDRAISER – BAKE SALE & WALK – FRI. OCT. 5

ALS Fundraiser

Bake Sale & Walk

To Our Kirk Families,

For the first time, we are raising money for ALS research.  ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

We will be having a Bake Sale this Friday October 5 as well as a 50/50 raffle to raise money for this cause. 50% of the proceeds of the raffle will go to the ALS Association and 50% to the winner of the raffle,   At our October Awards Assembly, you will hear about an ALS Walk on Oct. 21 in which your family can participate by walking or donating money. Below you will find a letter from The Ridings, a Kirk family, with information about the ALS Walk.

Please help us with this very important cause that is dear to our hearts here at Kirk. You will be teaching your child a valuable lesson in the character traits of compassion, hard work, and generosity.

Thank you,

Kirk Student Council Advisors

Dear Friends and Family,

On October 21st we will be participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS® to do our part in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s disease. Jake, Meagan and I will be walking in memory of our hero. Jim. He was an amazing, brave and dedicated dad and a wonderful, loving and supportive husband.  He was loved and is missed dearly by many.  We will also walk in memory of Jim’s mom Sharon and Jim’s Grandfather Bill who all fought bravely but lost their battle with ALS. Please join our team? The more Walkers, the merrier and the better for the mission of The ALS Association. We need people like you on our team.

There are over 30,000 people living in the United States that are affected by ALS. Your participation in the Walk will make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Think about the ways that The ALS Association has impacted those around you. The money we raise will help The Association lead global research, assist people with ALS, fund multidisciplinary certified clinical care centers, and foster government partnerships. Each dollar we contribute will make a difference! The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

We need your support, so bring your determination, your energy and your passion in support of the Walk to Defeat ALS. Please do anything you can; join our team, register as an individual or make a donation to support our efforts.

Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you at the Walk!

Debbie, Jake and Meagan
